		<description>The Holland Pages

Since I was 13, I was heavily into rollerblading. And in the first years of the new millenium, me and two of my best blading buddies started The Holland Pages. It was an online magazine launched in partnership with the biggest international skate magazine Daily Bread.

We made all sorts of content in the pre-web-2.0-era and sold advertising space to cool brands. It was thru this experience that I discovered my love for words and concepts. The site is no longer updated, but is archived as a monument in Dutch blading history. Check it out!

Magazine work

Here's a collection of articles I did for skate magazine Be-Mag and fashion magazine CODE.

Open publication - Free publishing - More articles

Blade life
My personal website wouldn't be complete without some kick ass rollerblading. Check out this section of my friends and I having a blast in our blading heyday.

<description>In the summer of 2011 Samsung Mob!le released the Samsung Galaxy S2. A superfast smartphone, with an extra vivid touchscreen and a slim 8mm design. In order to engage a critical 18-35 target audience with the phone's USP's, we created Project S2theTest.

Check out the case movie to learn all about it!

Here's a selection of some S2theTest challenges we did, in collaboration with production house Opslaan Als and several media partners.

<description>Nokia had a bit of a problem: in the ever changing smartphone world, they were losing market share. Consumers simply weren't asking for a Nokia phone anymore, and mobile phone stores weren't suggesting them.

In an effort to 'bring back the love', we directly targeted mobile phone stores and their employees, educating them on all the new Nokia features. Part of this effort was an exclusive calender, that could be placed in the stores.

The concept of the calender is a trip down Nokia memory lane. A brand that has consistently innovated the mobile phone market, and in doing so has created tons of nostalgic memories for all.

Mucho credits to photographer Marc Deurloo and our very own designer Hans Kleinenberg, who did the Photoshopping.

<description>Chupa Chups is all about a 'Life Less Serious'. To emphasize this, we set out to create a huge piece of colorful sidewalk art in the middle of Amsterdam's business district.

Together with street artist Sasa Ostoja, his dedicated crew and a group of super creative kids, we got all kinds of business folk involved in the creative process. Everyone was on their knees chalking away, contributing to the artwork and making life in the business district less serious

This effort was part of our 'Chupa Stoep Art' campaign, where we encouraged kids all over The Netherlands to make their own sidewalks less serious, with their own 'Stoep Art' (sidewalk art) creations. Check the case video to see how it all went.

<description>De Betweters is an online video column, where famous Dutch football connoisseurs Hugo Borst and Koert Westerman predict the week's games for online betting company Unibet. When they asked us if we could introduce their newest addition to the show, Dutch fetish model and playmate Ancilla Tilia, we decided to have a little fun and did this kinky shoot with the awesome photographer Carli Hermés.

OOH and print

<description>No budget. Yes movie. With the help of tons of professionals we created this one minute film for Fight cancer - a sublabel of KWF Kankerbestrijding. The film - or actually the awesome director Lennart Verstegen - got nominated for the Young Director Award in Cannes.

(Here's an English version)

To make sure the film got enough attention, we made a bet with SBS6 - one of the largest tv networks in Holland: if the film got 100.000 Youtube views in three days, we'd get free air time. The film soon became a trending topic on Twitter and with thousands of Facebook and Twitter shares, it became the #1 most shared non-profit video of the week. The responses were truly overwhelming.

Even though we lost the bet (we nearly reached 80.000 views in three days!), we still got free air time. Also, the film was shown in cinemas across Holland.

Making this film and seeing it embraced by so many people was definitely one of the best experiences of my life.

<description>The Unibet Open Poker Tournament is known for it's awesome party's and excellent atmosphere. To amplify this, we created the 'unforgettable poker' theme and ran these spreads in Cardplayer and Pokernews magazine. The ads contrasted nicely against the magazine's usual 100% serious poker content.
